My littler brother :D

Seth Jared--Sethy--Sethalanika--Jar--Jarry--Seth--Jared

Seth and September 26th go together like Andrea and April 14th. Meaning that today is his birthday!! My little is turning 17 today. I'm kinda disappointed that I'm not going to be able to see him on his birthday so I've been thinking about him a lot. So much so that I couldn't go to sleep till 2 last night. Yea, that's right, 2AM!
I tried to think of some of our memories and write them down. Hence why my screen now looks like this........
I love my little brother.
So Seth, here you go.
Remember when...
1. You thought I ran red lights? Yea, I so didn't.
2. I cut your hair? Just so you know that was revenge for you cutting mine like 7 years earlier
3. We went to camp and had all those crazy times? Mr. Joe was da best!
4. You cut my hair? Best part about that was I had to show Mom the hair you cut so she would believe me
5. I always always called you fat? You were the fattest one...I had the right!
6. We always called Eli midget? He got mad...
7. We loved Bill Peet books, Go Dog Go, Arthur, Are you my Mother and of course, Tacky the Penguin? We teased Drew about being DW
8. You stole my bike so I had to take the one with the brakes and I ran into a tree? I don't think I've forgiven you.
9. I made you get a facebook and you didn't want it? I know you're happy you have it now
10. We would drive to different states and we would sit in the back and you would sleep on the floor? You're so kind..
11. When we would always go swimming with the Macs? You almost died. I laughed.
12. Our wonderful cousins had a van that smelt like rotten peaches? GROSS!
13. We would spend summers with Aunt Ellen? I love her van.
14. Every summer we would go to VBS? Not any VBS, Veggietale VBS
15. We called Mr. Wright Mr. Dinosaur? That was the coolest thing ever!
16. We used our awesomeness to write Eric and Kristina birthday poems? They loved them
17. We didn't have a care in the world? Oh, the good ole days
18. At holidays me, you and Corbin would always make sure to sit at the "cool, excluded" table? We would always toast to ourselves too
19. We started the weird gang? You were all the people..
20. We always made forts and ice skated in the swamp? Drew ate the cabbage and we laughed
21. We went to basketball clinic and we went at the same time and you hated it? I can't believe you
22. Hikes with the cousins were the best? Especially at the bluffs
23. You made donuts that one time and they came out completely burnt? Bad boy
24. Mom made us go to art class? Matthew was a beast and you were not bad yourself
25. You broke the table? You broke the rope swing? You broke the vine? I'm mad at you for that too
26. You gave me $40 bucks for my birthday and I was so shocked? You're the coolest!
27. We loved to go on the swings and in the woods at Bethel? "if you close your eyes you go higher faster"
28. Richard and Jonathan stole the sticks from our fort cause they thought it was in their yard? That was not funny
29. There was that fort in the tree in Corbins front yard? We always bombed people with pine cones
30. I was home and you, me and Corb went downtown to get pizza? That was so good :) I won't forget that
31. We sung songs to our sleds? Ohh sled..
32. That one guy stuck his tongue to a pole cause he didn't believe us when we said his tongue would stick? he was a retard
33. At camp I would get mad at you cause you were a ladies man? Yea, that wasn't funny
34. We built that jump at Jeffrey for the  sleds and it was so cool? Best winter ever!
35. We were in the RV and I was standing up and Dad stopped? End of story.
36. Hot rod? Need I say more?
37. You and Corb thought it would be smart to throw pumpkins at the dumpster? You guys are so bad
38. Mom and Dad weren't home and we duct taped Matthew to the chair? :)
Now time for pictures.....I don't have many on my computer but here it is...
Your Sis, Drea :)

My day

I was thinking and I think I want to start documenting the days of my life...well at least if I have an exciting day. Because things keep happening to me that are awesome and next thing I know I forgot them, and that makes me sad. I think I'm going to have to back track too because we had our first legit teaching this week and it went so amazingly well! God definitely was blessing us :) But since it is 12:41 I will start with today.
Today was amazing! I had a really good day! First I got up, then I got ready to go to Church. I went downstairs...ok, I'll just put my highlights. We got to Church and they had these radio gadgets that when you put it on the right channel someone was translating the message into English. That was cool except for the fact that there was so much static and I could hardly hear what she was saying, so that made me kinda sad. After Church we stayed for a little while and played with the little kids there, they're so cute! I'm going to take some of them home with me.
We left Church and went out to eat and got some amazing food! It really was good. Last night Camellia told us that we probably would be going to a Church that has an English service after we go to our regular Church. I wasn't to happy about that, I thought it would be kinda lame and I didn't want to have to sit through two services. After our lunch we went and got milk tea (it was so delicious) and went to the English service. We got there and they were singing Blessed be Your Name! I got so happy, because I could actually sing along in English! Then the Pastor preached a message about the Prodigal son and we sang another song....IN ENGLISH!!!
After the service the Church had a fellowship where you could stay and play games and eat and talk. That was really fun! There were some Vietnamese students from a University there and they were awesome to talk too. They're so cute and they were so outgoing and loved talking to us. We stayed there and talked with them for a long time.
Then we came back to our house and I took a 4 hour nap :) I was very pleased.....except for the fact that I would wake up to my team taking pictures of me and scratching my feet and trying to draw on me. Mmmhmm, not nice!
When I got up it was 7 and time for dinner. I wanted pancakes, so I made pancakes :) They ended up coming out really well considering we don't have any measuring tools. That's right, I guessed and they came out awesome!
After that we had our team meeting, probably my "high" of the day! Every Sunday night my team meets together and we read some chapters of the Bible. Tonight we read Hebrews 10-13. So many verses stuck out to me, it was amazing!
We decided that our team verse for this year was going to be....the Bible! Well, that or Hebrews 12:1-2. We read it and it pretty much sums everything up! After reading the Bible we talked about it then we had a prayer time for all the TESOL teams in Taiwan.
Next we hungout as a team for a while. Then the guys left and it was party time for the girls.
That was my day :)
I had a good day.
Thank you Jesus for blessing me today.
Please bless Seth tomorrow as tomorrow he will be 17!!! (more about that later)
I love Jesus!

Alright, here are a few of my favorite pictures from my Taiwan so far. They're just really random but I like them and thought you should see them.

Lessons learned......from feet

Since being here we've had multiple opportunistic to play basketball with some different kids. It just so happened that every time we got to play with the kids would be the day that i didn't wear tennis shoes. A couple weeks ago we played basketball at our school and i was wearing flip-flops so i took them off. When we were done i had huge blisters on my feet. They were starting to get better and be all good when we went to "boy's town." The boys there wanted us to play basketball with them, i wasn't wearing shoes though. Hence, why I now have blisters growing inside of blisters.
When we were at the beach I was wearing flip-flops. I did my signature move and cut the top of toe open. Sad day :(

Not together!!!

a little story about this video. in the EV we have 4 different classes. airport. game. cafe. photography. on wednesday i taught the game class and airport. on thursday i taught the cafe. on friday i taught the cafe. thursday we had 3 classes to teach. in the cafe we taught them how to make a pb&j. it was awesome. most of them had never done it before so we made it a big deal. they would have to put peanut butter on a piece of bread then put strawberry jam on another piece of bread. when they found out they were going to have to put them together they would get so scared. some never put them together. some never ate it. some loved it. some just plain freaked out!
i was teaching with amber and we had taught 2 classes already. we were teaching our last class and decided to video tape this classes reaction to putting the pb and j together! i'm so glad we did. their reaction was priceless. when you watch this movie you have to watch the girl in the front. i laugh when i see her expressions.

~a very happy D2

Airplanes and Games

First day of school!! Today I had so much fun! I got to teach with Amber, we taught in 2 different rooms. We taught the game class and the airplane class. They were both so so fun! Game class was kinda hard because all you did was play one game and it was hard to get them into it. We ended up having a lot of fun with them though, we played the "EV Land" game, hangman and we had them guess how much money was in the stack.
Amber teaching in the game class--she was amazing at it!
About half way through the morning Amber and I were getting really bored with our regular clothes and we wanted to spice up our class to get the kids more into so we went into the "fashion store" and borrowed some of their clothes...
Commemorating my first day of teaching in Taiwan!! I know, I have an amazing "teacher" look!
I love this picture, it looks like we're going to Hawaii or something. Me and my girlies :)
Amber and I were inside the airplane teaching but we had to take a picture for our records...
Ohh man, this kid. That's all I have to say.
Today was an awesome first day. All the classes had such different personalities, some classes hardly even talked to us and some talked a lot. It was definitly easier to teach the classes that actually talked to us.
There was this one class that Amber and I had while we were teaching the airplane and they were the cutest class ever! We had let the kids use the flight simulator in the airplane and i was trying to end this kids turn so I made the plane face the ground so we were vertical and it was about to crash so I let go of the wheel. Next thing I know I see the plane pointing towards the sky and it didn't crash. All the kids gave that "pilot" a round of applause, it was so awesome.
Amazingly enough my first day was a blast!
Pray for us tomorrow, we have a crazy day! Teaching in the morning, then we're visiting Tang Lang EV, then we're having a dinner with people from our school and  bowling! It's gonna be a blast!!!

Update and BBQ

Written the 12th of september.
Life has been treating us good in Chaojhou, Pingtung, Taiwan. We don't start teaching school till the 21st so until it's a lot of hard work. You know, like hanging out with our team, going on bike rides in Chaojhou, going to the mall, eating food and stuff like that. Hard stuff.
We really haven't been doing much at all. But that's ok, this is a nice time to get to know my team and the area by where we are living.
When we do start teaching life is gonna be really hectic and crazy. We're teaching at 2 different English villages and maybe some other outside schools. My team leader told me that for the first 2 weeks I'm going to be going to Tang Lung EV in Pingdong. That EV is pretty cool there are only 4 different rooms at that EV. "our" EV is Nan Jung, that's the EV that has most priority and pretty much has control of our schedule.
That was all random stuff just so you guys know.
Today is a holiday in the Chinese culture. It's the moon festival, lots of BBQ's and family get togethers. We were invited to 2 different BBQ's, they were both really good!! The first one they had tons of chicken and beef and then little fires where you could cook your own food. And it tasted so so good!
The BBQ yesterday was pretty good too, they had a lot more choices then the first BBQ but they both were delicious.

The first is here

Well the day has come! We will have our first day of teaching tomorrow! We're so excited and can hardly wait!! This isn't even our first legit day of school, we're teaching the 7th graders from our school so it's not even the elementary kids. So honestly, this is just a "practice day" of school but it's the closest thing to teaching so far so it can be our first day of school!
I'm so excited to start teaching at the Nan Jung English Village! This is going to be a great day tomorrow!
Please pray for us as we go off and teach English for the first time, it's going to be very challenging but very fun! We can't wait!!
Thanks so much
