2012
Today is the day. Today is the first day of a new year. That’s so exciting!! I’ve only had 18 other first days of the year. This year was pretty special! I got to spend it with 7 other people in a different country.
Like most people our day started on New Year’s Eve, about 5:00. About this time Amber, Julia and I decided it was time to presentable. Amber said that we needed to dress how we wanted the year to come in. so we dressed like this…..
Once we made sure we were all pretty..or in some cases crazy we left to go to Kaohsiung, where we would partake in a sacred suppage of food. It’s normally about a 1 hour drive to Kaohsiung from Chaozhou, I’m not really sure how long it took this time though because Amber, Julia and I were having too much taking pictures :)

Once we arrived in Kaohsiung we went to TGI’s and reserved our spot. They said it would be about 2 hours of a wait. As we waited we walked around the mall and it got more crowded and more crowded. What would 2 hours wait be without pictures? So we took some more pictures…
Along the way we had many exciting adventures.
For instance, we found Elmo!

We had an adventure while Julia was in the bathroom. Some people realized that we were Americans. Oh, it was just a normal experience. People yellingng "Měiguó rén" and "Hello!" and wanting to take pictures of us. Okay,maybe these people just said "Hello." We were going to stalk them but they took to long. 
What can I say. We wait for a long time...
Another adventure was Toys R' Us. That is such a legit store.
We found these really cool mirror things that make pictures look awesome. This is the best cause you can't see Julia's face. No, that was a joke.
On this adventure Julia and I had just pretended we were creepied out to walk on a glass floor. We acted really really scared and like we thought it was going to break. Also, right after this picture we all pretended to be electrocuted as we walked through some doors. Yes, we did get stared at, but come on we get stared at anyway.We're cute, okay, because we're Americans.
I found this sign. I thought it was fitting.

We went to this bookstore and it was so cool because someone had the same shoes as me. That deserved a picture!
On the way out of the bookstore we saw something that made us laugh. There was this store with chairs that looked like trash cans. One of the kids had flipped it over and in it but accidentally got his bottom stuck. Instead of taking him out the older people there just kicked the kid over. It was so funny!!
Amber said the babies were us.
Finally they called us and told us we could eat. Our waitress was so cool! She spoke to us in English and it was so cute. “Here comes the water,”she was adorable.
After our delicious last meal of 2011 I thought it would be fitting to take some awesome “last pictures.”

After running through crowds and dodging people left and right. Almost dying. Having a dancing party. Hitting multiple people with the camera. Yelling out random stuff. Almost dying. Losing 3 of our people. We made it back to the van, we had to wait for the others….

Once they arrived we got in the van and drove home :)
Then we fell asleep..

What kind of New Year’s Eve blog post would this be if it didn’t include the real party?
Now we will continue the party details. We got back and hung out, and started watching The Disorderly Orderly. Until 11:58 that is. We broke out the bubbly (of course in our case it was just Sparkling apple cider) and got ready to toast!!
We had a countdown then bam! We toasted!
Then we took our first pictures of the new year!!!

After that we prayed for this New Year and that God would bless it.
Now that’s the end. After that the party was over and we went to bed. Well of course after letting the whole rest of the world know that we’re a year ahead of them.
