Sad sad day.

Graduation.
Graduation is normally a really happy and really sad time. Happy because that means that a period of your life is over. Sad because it is the end and you have to leave. Yesterday we had the chance to attend the graduation of my school (Tang Lung Elementary). We got to see the Kindergarteners and the 6th graders graduate. The graduation wasn't that big of a deal to us because we had only taught the 6th graders 3ish times before and the Kindergarteners maybe 8 times. What made it so special was that it was our last time to see the whole school. It was our last time to go to Tang Lung.
Over the last year we've had the opportunity to teach there about 3 days every week. We wouldn't teach the kids that go to Tang Lung we would teach kids from other schools. But because we were on the campus multiple times every week we got to say hi to the kids and play with them and occasionally talk to them. They have the cutest and sweetest kids ever there.
I know I mentioned before that maybe 2 Friday's every month we would teach the 1st and 2nd graders and kindergarteners. This was our last time to see them. We had gotten so tight with them during those Fridays. It was so sad to be there knowing that you would never see them again. When we got there we weren't sure if they knew it was our last time to see them; by the time we left we were sure that they knew.
My favorite part of the day was when they called us up to give us our “certificates of thanks.” We all went on stage and the Principal gave us a little gift and our certificate. Then the announcer said thank you to us and all of our kids ran up on stage to give us hugs and hand us cards. We all were smothered with hugs and love from tons of kids.
In the Taiwanese culture hugs aren’t often given. When we first got here we didn’t get very many hugs. When we would want a hug from the kids you gave them a hug and they stood there awkwardly. When we left yesterday all the kids gave us hugs first! We taught them well.
Ever since we arrived here in Taiwan we've been stared at consistently. On occasions when those people could get up the nerve to talk to us we would be asked to have pictures taken with us. It seriously has never stopped. I've been in more pictures this one year than I have my whole life put together. A gazillion of those pictures I will never see though and I'm okay with that.
All that to say that at the graduation it was funny because pretty much wherever I looked there was a parent either videotaping us or taking a picture of us. Then some of the kids came over to take a picture with us and we smiled and took a picture and then their parents would be like “My turn!” and come over and take pictures with us. We were the stars of the graduation.
The director of the EV has 3 kids. Cherry, Henry, and Conny, they're all so cute and adorable. Because their Mom is the director of the EV that means they have to come early and stay late. Because we had to take trains that meant that we had to go early and stay late. That meant we became good hang out buddies. They would always come to the EV when they were bored so they could hang out with us. It was so sweet! At first it was because we were foreigners, then it was because we had AC, then it was because they loved us. It was the hardest to say goodbye to them. It made it even harder because Cherry and Conny made us all cards. Cherry spent the time to think of a memory that she had with each one of us and she drew us doing that thing. Alex's card has cherry on her shoulders, Aaron's has him with her shoes on his ears, mine has us playing a game in the EV, Amber is them playing outside. It was the sweetest thing! I seriously almost cried when I saw everyone's cards.
Yep, I'm going to miss that school and those kids so much!!
Here are my pictures :)

Also, sorry about the bad grammar and writing.
This is the dance that the Kindergarteners did. It's 6 minutes but you should try and watch it, you can skip through it if you want.Sorry about us talking during it.
