Thailand -- The Sights

We never did get to actually go into Bangkok, although, we did get to see a lot of other places that were really tremendous. We actually got to go into Myanmar.  It was so cool because one of the places that we went to was right next to the border of Myanmar and Thailand. From where we were standing Myanmar was just across this 10 foot river. Most of us wanted to go in really bad, so we asked our leaders. They found out we just needed to pay some money then we could cross the border. About half of us did go into Myanmar to look around. We didn’t get to see very much of it because we only had 30 min that we could be there for it was a cool thing to be able to go into another country. Get a couple more stamps in my passport, say whatt!!

We also went to this place that was super awesome; they called it the Golden Triangle. It was where you could see Laos, Myanmar and Thailand at the same time. Hence the name Golden Triangle. That was really cool to be able to see all three at one time. My time has this dance that we ALWAYS do called the waka waka, so far we’ve done it in every country we’ve been in. To keep up tradition we did it at the Golden Triangle. Pretty awesome, I know.

Because the organization that sponsored the trip and planned it all out for us isn’t a Christian organization we had to go see a lot of temples. There’s this one temple though that was the creepiest thing ever! It reminded me of the white witch’s castle, expect multiple by 46 creepiness bars and then you have this temple. It’s really hard to explain in words. It was a real temple to in order to go in you had to take off your shoes. Inside there were people worshiping their gods. On the wall in the back of the temple it was a mural of all the “bad things” in the world. There was a plane crashing into the twin towers, a cell phone, superheroes and a ton of other crazy stuff. On the way into the temple you had to cross this bridge, under it had tons of creepy looking hands. Outside in the courtyard hanging from the trees these really creepy looking heads. The whole place was super creepy and horrible.

These people were bottle feeding the fish.

One day we hiked up a mountain, when we got to the top we saw the reason that we climbed up. It was a statue, this statue:

That’s okay though because we got to take some pretty cool pictures :)

I think I said this before but where we were was up in the mountains so I have a gazillion of awesome mountain pictures. It was so pretty with all the trees and everything. I love mountain landscape, it’s awesome! One thing we got to see that they had a lot of was water buffalo. I had never seen one before until I went to Thailand but they’re pretty cool. Whenever any of us saw a water buffalo we couldn’t help but sing the Water Buffalo song.

 The End.

Were the creepy looking hands explained to you? Not that this information helps relieve any of the creepiness, but those hands represent the souls of those in the underworld.
I can't remember what the tree with the heads represent. It's been a while since I studied the Hindu religion. I hated learning about the Hindu religion because it is one of the most disgusting religions in the world next to Wicca.
Looking at some of your pictures of the statues make me shudder because I remember what each 'deity' represents. Even their different postures represent different things...none of them any good. A majority of the gods and goddesses 'survive' on the blood of children.
How ironic is that in your case??
Anyway, cool photos! Looks like you had a blast!

Oh! We had never seen the 'Water Buffalo Song' so I showed it to the kids and they just laughed and laughed! Now they are bouncing around the house hollering "Everybody's got a baby kangaroo! Yours is pink but mine is blue!"
