Next, Julia's birthday---

In October Julia turned 19. She was the first person on our team to have a birthday so we had to prove to her that we knew how to party!

We had a really good time on the day before her birthday, her birthday....well, yea.

So Friday the 28th, Jared, Amber, Julia and I had the day so we decided to celebrate her birthday a day early.

I made some delicious scones for breakfast and we had some fruit and it was so delicious!! Then Jared got dressed up for the party we were headed off too

We have a friend who is an English teacher and teaches every Friday. This Friday she was having a halloween party with her class and asked us if we would want to come and visit. So our first stop was Mehio University's English class' halloween party.

Getting there required us to get on a bus!  Amber, Julia's and my first bus ride in Taiwan.

Amber painted mine and Julia's faces... I decided that if I ever don't have a job I'm going to become a clown.

We stayed there for a while and hung out with all the people and had a lot of fun.

Next, we had to hop on the bus that would take us to the train station so we could head to the next destination. So once again we found the bus and paid our fare and got on the bus.

We got off at the train station in Pingtung found the train and hopped on it. We were going to go to Kaoshung, in Kaoshung we were going to head over to the mall!

On the train we found this nice Colombian kid who spoke English so we became friends (not good enough friends to get a picture with him though). He was an exchange student and was crazy.

Finally we arrived in Kaoshung and now we had to get on the MRT. So we found the MRT with our crazy Colombian friend and started heading to the mall. The mall we were going to was the crazy 9 story mall with a ferris wheel on top, and TGI Friday's inside!!!

Where do you think our next stop was? TGI's of course!!!

We told them it was Julia's birthday so they brought out their box of birthday goodness for us and gave us all hats to wear. Julia had the cake, Amber was a fish, Jared was a king and I got the beer (why I don't know)

Lunch was so amazing. I think I would die if they didn't have any American restaurants here.

By this time it was 3ish and we still had a few hours left. Someone got the bright idea to go to the roof of the mall and go on the ferris wheel. This ferris wheel is HUGE; it takes 20 min to go around it okay, HUGE!

We went to the roof and got on the ferris wheel, we got the booth that was decorated for halloween which made it so much more cooler!

When the ferris wheel was done we didn't have to go home yet so we stayed on the roof and played some games and had a lot of fun!! 

We played one of those games where you have to hit the whatchamacallit with the hammer and a few other games, basically had a good few hours! This game you had to punch as hard as you could.

Amber played one of those basketball games and got the ball stuck. You can only kinda see it.

 Julia and Amber rode a horse. They were so bad but it was so funny!

 It was then time to go home so we had an adventure trying to catch the bus to the MRT, then a MRT to the train station. The bus wasn't coming so we took a taxi to the train station then missed our train then got tickets to the wrong train. We're home though so it all worked out!

At home we at tacos and had cake and opened presents! 

Thus ends the day before Julia's birthday. 

Julia's birthday? Well I can sum that up in a few lines. 

We got up and went to a character training conference. When we were done with the conference we came home and made dinner. Julia went to get ingredients for dinner and on the way home got hit by a moped (no worries, she's fine now). We ate dinner and apple pie. End of day.
